Getting Started with Innivee Strategies

Why should we work with an outside consultant like Innivee Strategies?
Working with an outside organizational development consultant brings a fresh perspective and specialized, dedicated focus to address specific challenges within your organization. We can introduce innovative solutions, facilitate effective change management, and enhance overall performance, drawing on our experience to tailor strategies that align with your unique needs and objectives. How can our organization begin working with Innivee Strategies? What is the first step in beginning a partnership with Innivee Strategies?
The first step to working together is to complete our project request form, which gives us basic information about your organization and project and allows us to determine whether or not it is something we can take on at the time. If your project appears to be a good fit, we will set up a meeting to discuss it further. After this meeting, if your organization is interested in Innivee Strategies’ services, we will send a proposal for your review, then a contract to sign if we agree to work together!

The majority of our projects begin with a kickoff meeting to review the project objectives, timeline, and review our respective involvement in the project. If it is our first time working together, we may also conduct an organizational discovery, where our team will ask yours to share documents, data, and other information to help us fully understand your program(s) and organization.

How does the onboarding process with Innivee Strategies work, and what criteria determine an organization’s eligibility to work with you?
Whether or not we work with a client is contingent on a number of factors, such as their desired timeframe, budget, and whether Innivee Strategies is the right fit for the project. If we do not feel we can deliver the results you and your organization deserve, we will do our best to point you to another resource.

What is the typical duration of a consulting engagement with Innivee Strategies?
Change takes time! We prefer to work with our clients over a period of time, which can range from three months to one year depending on the organization and its needs. That said, every project is different. We invite you to contact us and discuss the project you have in mind.

Strategic Planning & Execution

How does Innivee Strategies involve key groups in the strategic planning process?
We believe that community engagement is integral to a successful strategic planning process. We typically engage key groups throughout the process by:

  • Collecting information from constituents through surveys, focus groups, and/or interviews
  • Forming an ad hoc committee made up of various constituencies to assess the data gathered and determine top priorities
  • Communicating regularly with the organization’s constituents throughout the process
  • Working with clients to establish an implementation plan that allows everyone to track, measure, and celebrate the organization’s progress, together!

What methodologies does Innivee Strategies use for needs assessments and data analysis?
Depending on the project, we will collect data through literature reviews / analysis of existing documents and information, surveys, focus groups, and interviews. When analyzing data, we look for common themes and trends, but also for the gaps in our data and for information that helps us understand the needs of marginalized, minority groups.

How do Innivee Strategies’ services integrate with our organization’s existing strategies?
We recognize that organizations are constantly managing a number of priorities and needs. We aim to tie strategies together in a common thread where possible.

To what extent does Innivee Strategies assist with strategy implementation?
Our strategic planning projects typically end with an implementation phase, where we discuss and define how your organization will implement the strategies we developed over the year to come, identifying specific actions, milestones, and metrics. The best strategic plan is one that is used!

While Innivee Strategies has expertise in working with and advocating for the unique needs of Deaf, hard of hearing, blind, and disability communities, we are not exclusively limited to serving these organizations. How does Innivee Strategies approach diversity and inclusion in its services?
We are committed to developing and cultivating connections with leaders and clients across cultures and communities and of diverse backgrounds such as women, Black, Indigenous, People of Color, LGBTQA+, and differently abled in every industry within our community.   • Our November 2022 event, Deaf Organizations Executive Summit (DOES), supported scholarships for six executive leaders who identify as members of minority groups or organizations with insufficient funds to support their leader’s attendance.
  • Our staff members maintain an annual obligation to partake in professional development pertaining to DE&I. Most recently, two of our consultants participated in the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEIB) for Consultants Program, a new cohort-based program offered by the Institute for Nonprofit Practice and designed for nonprofit consultants who are particularly interested in honing their skill and confidence in integrating a racial equity lens into their work with clients.
  • We have contracted with over 40 independent contractors, who have provided services to our company or provided services directly to our clients, whose owners identify as BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, have additional disabilities, or come from other under-represented groups.
  • Of the candidates that Innivee Strategies, Inc. has successfully sourced and placed through our executive search services, 67% identify as Black, Indigenous, or People of Color.
