Background:

Tim Hopkins brings over 20 years of experience transforming mission-driven organizations through strategic, human-centered approaches. As Managing Director of McKinley Advisors’ Organizational Excellence team, he collaborates with associations to address challenges in strategy, governance, organizational effectiveness, and diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI).

Currently, Tim serves as Chair of ASAE’s Conscious Inclusion Committee (2023-2025). A recognized thought leader among association executives, he frequently speaks at events on fostering inclusive organizational cultures, promoting Conscious Inclusion, and driving meaningful, outcome-focused change. Tim has also worked with numerous associations to develop data-driven strategies and implementation roadmaps that create lasting impact.

Before joining McKinley in 2020, Tim was the Director (CIO) of the International Association of Fire Chiefs (IAFC) Digital Center. There, he led digital transformation initiatives and drove culture-focused organizational change. Among his key achievements was creating and launching the Diversity Executive Leadership Program (iDELP) in 2016, which supported two successful cohorts and advanced diversity within fire/EMS services and association leadership.
