Today, Innivee Strategies launched a statewide survey (link) for Deaf, Hard of Hearing, and DeafBlind residents of the state of Connecticut. This survey is part of a statewide needs assessment to better understand the ongoing impact that COVID-19 has had on the Connecticut community. This impact includes COVID-19’s impact on individuals’ health, employment, and the communication accessibility challenges that arose.
This needs assessment was made possible thanks to funding from the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) through the State of Connecticut Aging and Disability Services. This project will be overseen by American School for the Deaf (ASD) and led by Deaf-owned company, Innivee Strategies. Several Connecticut-based community organizations, including Connecticut Association for the Deaf, Communication Advocacy Network, and Hear Here Hartford will also provide support for this project.
In addition to the survey, which can be viewed and responded to in both English and American Sign Language, Innivee Strategies will host multiple focus groups from various constituencies in the state, such as senior citizens, DeafBlind individuals, and youth.
