Job Description

The Director of Schools serves as the chief executive and instructional leader for Tennessee Schools for the Deaf, providing vision and leadership for academic programming, operations, outreach, and staff across all campuses. The role focuses on improving student achievement, advancing bilingual education, fostering strong community relationships, and ensuring effective and efficient school system operations.

Key Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in education or a related field
  • Minimum of five years teaching experience, including work with students on IEPs
  • Minimum of three years of successful administrative or supervisory experience
  • Proficiency in American Sign Language
  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and strategic planning skills
