Executive Search Launch: Dean, National Technical Institute for the Deaf (NTID)

Innivee Strategies is honored to partner once again with the National Technical Institute for the Deaf (NTID) at Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) to support the search for NTID’s next Dean.

Our firm previously partnered with NTID during the successful presidential search that resulted in the appointment of Dr. Caroline M. Solomon as President of NTID and Vice President of RIT. We are proud to continue our work with NTID during this important next phase of leadership.

About the Role

NTID is the world’s first and largest technological college for Deaf and hard-of-hearing students, serving more than 1,100 students within the Rochester Institute of Technology community.

The Dean serves as NTID’s chief academic administrator, providing leadership for:

  • Academic programs and curriculum
  • Research initiatives
  • Faculty development and advancement
  • Strategic academic planning
  • Student success and innovation

As NTID launches its new strategic plan and expands its future impact, the next Dean will play a central role in shaping academic excellence and strengthening NTID’s position as a global leader in Deaf higher education.

The Ideal Candidate

NTID seeks an experienced academic leader who brings:

  • A distinguished scholarly and academic record
  • Senior-level administrative experience in higher education
  • Deep connection to Deaf culture and community
  • Advanced fluency in American Sign Language
  • A collaborative and visible leadership style
  • Commitment to championing students, faculty, and innovation

This role requires a leader who understands both the academic rigor of a technological institution and the cultural and linguistic foundations that define NTID’s mission.

Our Role in the Search

Innivee Strategies is partnering with Isaacson, Miller to support this search. Together, we will conduct a comprehensive national outreach effort designed to identify highly qualified candidates who align with NTID’s mission, values, and strategic direction.

We look forward to engaging leaders across higher education and the Deaf community to ensure this search reflects NTID’s long-standing commitment to excellence, access, and innovation.
