The National Technical Institute for the Deaf (NTID) is the world’s first and largest technological college for Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing students and one of the nine colleges of Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT). Since its establishment in 1968, NTID has been an international model for educating and preparing Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing students for successful careers across diverse sectors—from the arts and healthcare to cutting-edge technology fields.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop the strategic vision for NTID’s future
  • Engage stakeholders around institutional priorities
  • Enhance student recruitment and retention
  • Foster collaboration between NTID and RIT
  • Advocate for NTID’s mission locally, nationally, and globally

Ideal Candidate Qualifications:

  • Experience in or knowledge of higher education
  • Deep understanding of Deaf culture (fluency in American Sign Language strongly preferred)
  • Proven leadership skills
  • Demonstrated ability to forge relationships with:
    • Members of Congress and federal government
    • Business and industry leaders
    • Alumni and the broader DHH community
    • Other key constituencies
