When The Children’s Center for Communication / Beverly School for the Deaf (CCCBSD) asked, “Who are we—together?”, their leadership and community set out to find the answer through data, dialogue, and shared purpose.

From February through August 2024, CCCBSD partnered with Innivee Strategies to lead an inclusive, Deaf-led strategic-planning process that aligned two historic programs under a single vision: to help every student and staff member thrive with dignity, purpose, and joy.

  • The Challenge: Two complementary but distinct programs—Beverly School for the Deaf and The Children’s Center for Communication—operated under separate policies, cultures, and identities. Leadership turnover and an expired plan created momentum for change.
  • The Approach: Innivee Strategies facilitated a four-phase planning journey grounded in accessible engagement and Purpose-Driven Board Leadership (PDBL) principles. Over 180 participants, 10 focus groups, and bilingual surveys shaped the plan.
  • The Outcome: Within six months, CCCBSD established new leadership structures, launched a family learning series, expanded services for Deaf students, and strengthened fiscal sustainability through a new Advancement Department.
  • The Impact: A once-divided campus now shares unified values: Humanity, Belonging, Inclusivity, Collaboration, Integrity, and Excellence.

“Innivee Strategies brought thoughtful structure and clarity to the process. Their neutral facilitation created a safe space for honest dialogue and ownership.”
— Dr. Karen Hopkins, Executive Director, CCCBSD
