NASHVILLE, TN — The Tennessee Department of Education and the Tennessee School for the Deaf (TSD) today announced a national search for a new superintendent to lead the state’s three TSD campuses, following the planned retirement of Dr. Sandra Edwards at the conclusion of the 2025-2026 school year.
Dr. Edwards has served as TSD Superintendent for the past five years, guiding the schools through a period of significant growth and achievement. “We are grateful for Dr. Edwards’ leadership and dedication over the last five years,” said Josh Mason, representing the Tennessee Department of Education. “We want to thank her for her hard work and commitment to TSD’s successes.”
To conduct the search, the Tennessee Department of Education has partnered with Innivee Strategies, Inc., a nationally recognized consulting firm specializing in executive search and organizational development for organizations serving Deaf, DeafBlind, and Hard of Hearing communities.
