Horace Mann School for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Announces Strategic Plan Initiative with Innivee Strategies
The Horace Mann School for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (HMS), the oldest public day school for the Deaf and hard of hearing in the United States, publicly announced the organization’s strategic planning process this month. This process will engage various school community members to identify the most important priorities for the school to focus on in the years ahead.
HMS has partnered Innivee Strategies, Inc., a Deaf-owned and led organizational and leadership development consulting business, to facilitate the strategic planning process. Innivee Strategies will hold focus groups with students, staff, families, and other key school community members and release a survey to gather information on what the school is doing well, where we can improve, and what you envision for our future.
Innivee Strategies, Inc. is thrilled to collaborate with HMS on this strategic planning process and in co-creating the strategic goals together. Community input is an essential part of Innivee Strategies’ approach to strategic planning. The data gathered from the focus groups and survey, which will be kept confidential, will be summarized in a report where no identifying information will be disclosed. Innivee Strategies will then work closely to support an ad hoc strategic committee of representatives from the HMS community to analyze the report, discuss its implications for the school, and develop recommendations for HMS’ new strategic goals. The ad hoc strategic committee will present these recommendations to the HMS leadership team, which will take up the responsibility of carrying out the goals. We look forward to working with the HMS community between now and the end of the school year.
